who i am.
Architect_Explorer_Keeper of "Useless" Information. I am a 2010 graduate of Kansas State University with my Master of Architecture from the College of Architecture, Planning and Design. I was called to be an architect at an early age through my constant curiosity and creative imagination while designing and modelling countless forts, lego cities and buildings.
Currently, I specialize in commercial and sports architecture with HOK in Kansas City, MO. With over 5 years experience working on a diverse selection of projects for sports, education, medical and mixed-use clients, I bring technical skills with Building Information Modeling, construction documentation and construction phase coordination to each project I work on. My ability to translate design intent into constructable details while keeping the high-level goals of the client at the forefront have proven invaluable on each of my projects. I grew up and worked in Mid-Missouri spending seven years in Manhattan, Kansas for school and then work after graduation. I've had study tours to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Oslo, Norway during school in addition, I spent a semester abroad in Prague, Czech Republic with associated travels throughout Europe.
Having lived in cities ranging in population from forty thousand to two million and everywhere in between, I have been exposed to and observed the goings on and lifestyles of different cities and cultures. What I've learned is that a city's environment and its architecture define the nature of how people create their niches. From this I believe the designed environment helps to give people a sense of place, a unique but interconnected identity, somewhere to live, work, play, and dream.
In my free time I love to play soccer, watch movies, listen to music, and go biking/hiking/camping.
