who i am.
Designer/Intern-Architect. I am a 2010 graduate of Kansas State University with my Master of Architecture from the College of Architecture, Planning and Design. I was called to be an architect at an early age through my constant curiosity and creative imagination while designing and modelling countless forts and lego cities and buildings.
Currently I specialize in commercial and sports architecture with the firm of HOK in Kansas City, MO. With over 5 years experience working on a diverse selection of projects for sports, education, medical and mixed-use clients, I bring technical skills with Building Information Modeling, construction documentation and construction phase coordination to each project I work on. My ability to translate design intent into constructable details while keeping the high-level goals of the client at the forefront have proven invaluable on each of my projects. I grew up and worked in Mid-Missouri sandwiching in seven years in Manhattan, Kansas for school and work as well. I've had study tours to such far locales as San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Oslo, Norway. In addition, I spent a semester abroad in Prague, Czech Republic with associated travels throughout Europe.
Having lived in cities ranging in population from forty thousand to two million and everywhere in between, I have been exposed to and observed the goings on and lifestyles of different cities and cultures. What I've learned is that a city's environment and its architecture define the nature of how people create their niches. From this I believe the designed environment helps to give people a sense of place, a unique but interconnected identity, somewhere to live, work, play, and dream.
In my free time I love to play soccer, watch movies, listen to all genres of music, and go biking.
